What is a Modern Ceremony?

When asked the frequent questions “Can we?” “Is it possible to?” I take pride in being able to answer ‘Yes’ in most cases. Having made the decision to put the more formal, legal procedures in place before your ceremony and separate the ‘legal’ from the ‘ceremonial’, this is where the adventure begins and together we can build something truly special for you.

My Approach

As a trained and accomplished speaker, my aim is to tell the story in the most creative and meaningful way possible. I am passionate about creating a celebratory, symbolic ceremony with you, which declares to all present the feelings you wish to share.

My many and varied years of experience has allowed me to develop the skills necessary to set the scene and to find a way around any potential difficulty or restriction that could get in the way of making your ceremony bespoke and simply, what you want. My approach is flexible and often involves thinking outside the box!

A bit about me...

After more than thirty years of teaching I found my true vocation as a celebrant.

My considerable media experience, including appearances on major TV and Radio networks, together with being a trained and accomplished public speaker, has given me the skills to communicate individually or with large groups of people in a manner that is sensitive yet unwavering.

As a trained counsellor, I’m also an exceptionally good listener, which is vital when it comes to understanding the story you want to tell.

Music and literature have always been keen interests for me and my passion for poetry has proved a distinct advantage when choosing texts to include in a ceremony.

Your Ceremony, Your Choices

I offer creative options which allow us to work together to tailor a ceremony, which is unique and personal to you both, enabling your choices of who is involved, where it takes place and what is said. The abiding memories of your day will be shaped by your ideas, thoughts and feelings.

My inspiration comes from your feelings and experiences and relies upon us forming a relationship which is comfortable, open and honest. Our meetings, often set within the pleasant and contemporary surroundings of my home, are where we investigate all the possibilities, establish what feels right and good and get to know how well we can work together.

We can experiment with your ideas and discover new and exciting ones along the way. When you have collected together all your wishes and unique personal touches, you can relax and leave me to work my magic to design and create a ceremony that is perfect for you. However, nothing is set in stone and we can rehearse and tweak until we reach the best outcome.
